Do I need to stay the whole time?
Nope! Come for the whole event or just drop in when you can. All our events are super flexible — it’s your time to use however you like. There are no reductions in crop fees for shorter stays.
What should I bring?
Bring your current projects, photos, your favourite tools, and any supplies you want to use. I’ll have some Creative Memories products available to browse and buy, and a full range of punches, border maker cartridges and the custom cutting system. Lunch is included for daytime crops. Can I come alone or bring a friend?
Many of our guests come solo and quickly make new friends. Whether you join a group or come with friends, you’ll feel welcome and comfortable. Just be sure friends register too so I can plan accordingly. The more, the merrier — scrapbooking is always better with friends!
Will there be instruction or is it more self-guided?
Most events are self-paced, but I’m always around to answer questions, offer ideas, and share inspiration. I will often do a quick demo or mini activity during crops, but the focus is always on giving you the freedom to work on your own projects.
Crops and Classes
What is a “crop”?
A crop is a gathering of scrapbookers who come together to work on projects, share ideas, and enjoy each other’s company.
What’s the difference between a day crop and a weekend retreat?
A day crop runs from 9 AM to 4 PM and includes a gourmet lunch. A weekend retreat includes accommodations, all meals, and two nights of creative fun.
Do you offer beginner scrapbook classes?
Yes! I love helping beginners get started. Check the “Classes and Crops” page for upcoming beginner sessions.
Booking and Policies
How do I book a retreat or crop?
Visit our Classes and Crops or Retreats page to see upcoming dates and availability. You can reserve your spot directly through the site or by contacting me.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. Deposits are non-refundable and transferable to another date if cancellation occurs within two weeks of the date of your event.
Do you offer private group bookings?
Yes! Gather your friends for a private weekend retreat. We can customize the theme, meals, and activities to suit your group.
About the Retreats
What is included in a weekend retreat?
Your weekend includes cozy accommodations, all gourmet meals and snacks, and full access to our bright, well-equipped studio. Each guest has their own 6-foot table, comfortable chair, and access to a wide variety of tools and supplies.
How many guests can attend?
We currently can host up to five scrapbookers at a time. There are four single beds (two to a room) and a queen room, so everyone has plenty of space to relax and create.
What time does the weekend retreat start and end?
Weekend retreats typically begin Friday at 3 PM and wrap up Sunday at noon. We finish with a delicious French toast bake brunch before departure. Other plans are possible. Please email us with your requests at visit@whiskersandwoods.ca.
Do I need to bring my own scrapbooking supplies?
Bring your own projects and photos. Plus, we provide an extensive selection of shared tools — including Cricut machines, stamps, punches, and the Creative Memories Border Maker System. See the full list HERE
Are meals included in the retreat price?
Yes! Every retreat includes gourmet meals, snacks, and beverages from Friday evening through Sunday brunch.
Can you accommodate food allergies or special diets?
Absolutely. Just let us know your needs when you register, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
What beverages and snacks are available?
Coffee, tea, water, soft drinks, and snacks are available at all times. You’ll never go hungry here!
Are there fridges or storage for personal items?
Yes, there’s a fridge available for guest use if you’d like to bring special items.
How are the sleeping arrangements set up?
The lodge offers two rooms with two single beds and two rooms with a queen bed each. Linens and towels are provided.

Will I get to meet Copper and Penny, your orange cats?
Yes, Copper and Penny often make friendly appearances! They love attention but also know when to give guests space.
Is there a shop or Creative Memories products available to purchase?

What nearby attractions or towns can I visit during my stay?
We’re located just outside Alexandria, Ontario — a charming small town with shops and cafés. Cornwall, Hawkesbury, Montreal, and Ottawa are all within easy driving distance if you plan to explore.
